Social Share - Demo article

This is an ordinary Joomla article. The share buttons you see with it are not part of the template and not pasted into the text: they come from the Social Share plugin, which adds them to every article you choose. Try one. The link opens the share dialog of that platform with the title and the URL of this page already filled in.

No accounts, no scripts, no tracking

Each button is a plain link to the share endpoint of the platform itself. The plugin loads one small stylesheet and no third party JavaScript, so nothing is loaded from Facebook or X until a visitor actually clicks. That keeps your pages fast and your cookie banner short.

Choose where the buttons appear

  • Above the article, below it, or both.
  • In the article view, the category view, the featured view and the archive view, each switched on or off separately.
  • Only in the categories you select, so your blog gets share buttons and your terms and conditions do not.
  • Opening in a new window or in the same tab.

Fifteen platforms

Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky, Pinterest, Reddit, Tumblr, WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Flipboard, Trello and email. Facebook, X, LinkedIn and WhatsApp are on after installation; switch on whatever your audience actually uses and leave the rest off.

Make it fit your design

The default layout uses your Bootstrap styling, and there is a dedicated YOOtheme layout with UIkit icon styles, background, text colour and alignment. Icons and platform names can be shown or hidden per screen size, so you can display icons with names on desktop and icons only on phones. Add a prefix such as "Share on" before each name, make the row sticky while visitors scroll, and add your own CSS if you want to go further. Prefer something completely different? Copy the layout file into your template and it will show up as an extra choice.
