Portrait Photography Workshop
Photographing your own work is one thing, photographing people is another. In this afternoon session you learn to work with one light source, a reflector and a patient model, so your product shots stop looking like snapshots.
Bring your camera or your phone; both work for what we cover.
13:00 to 17:00, 65 euro. Ten places.
Kids Craft Afternoon
Pompoms, finger knitting and weaving on a cardboard loom. Children from six upwards work their way through three tables of materials and take everything they make home with them.
Parents are welcome to stay, and there is coffee for the ones who do.
14:00 to 16:30, 7 euro fifty per child. Sign up at the counter.
Summer Harvest Market
Growers from the surrounding villages bring in what is ripe that week: strawberries, courgettes, the first tomatoes and far too much rhubarb. Come early for the good stuff, come late for the end of day prices.
Our stall sells dyed yarn coloured with plants from those same fields.
09:00 to 14:00, free entry.
Knit and Chat Evening
The regular Friday evening for anyone with a project on the needles and a question they cannot solve alone. Someone at the table always knows how to fix a dropped stitch three rows down.
Bring your own work and, if you feel like it, something for the shared table.
19:00 to 22:00, free. Just walk in.
Crochet for Beginners
One hook, one ball of cotton and an afternoon is all it takes to learn chain stitch, single crochet and working in the round. By four o'clock everyone has a small basket that actually holds its shape.
Suitable for anyone who has never crocheted, and for knitters who want to try the other craft.
13:30 to 16:30, 40 euro including hook and yarn.
Meet the Maker: Studio Talk
An hour of questions with a designer who turned a hobby into a living. How a pattern goes from a sketch to a published booklet, what it earns, and which parts of the job nobody warns you about.
Plenty of room for your own questions, and a drink afterwards.
20:00 to 21:30, 10 euro. Fifty seats.
